I have always been inspired by the words of John the Baptist, “He must become greater; I must become less.” (John 3:30) Everywhere John went, as soon as he was sure he had other people’s attention, he would point them towards Jesus.

I am intrigued and humbled by the thought that the culmination of my life’s experiences can point to the glory of God. I grew up all over the world and eventually graduated from Westmont College with a degree in Biology and Religious Studies. I had some inkling that God might be calling me into full time ministry in my teen years, but it wasn’t until my college years that God began to slowly clarify a pastoral call on my life.

I went on to Fuller Theological Seminary for my M.Div., and I am so grateful that my years there helped bring out the things that I care the most about:

First, the Bible is the life-giving Word of God. I thoroughly enjoy the times that I can help others find life and hope in knowing God, especially through the Scriptures.

Second, God’s heart beats for mission. I am still growing in my understanding of how much it means to him when his children help each other. But, it is certainly clear to me that I often feel most “alive” when I am on mission trips or around missionaries.

Finally, God meant for us to grow and be formed in community. Part of the imago dei is that we might be the face and hands of Christ to one another. As you can see, it is a wonderful intersection of my worlds that I get to serve this community as the International Mission and Community Life Pastor. I am also deeply passionate about an interesting conversation over a good cup of coffee, putting together a delicious meal, or hiking in the mountains.
